Beautiful Four Part Harmony

Dibs on the alto part!!!

Which is worse - a sour note or sour milk???
Today is BARBERSHOP QUARTET DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  From the sound of that, you may think I'm going to talk about music theory in musiceeze and talk about chord progressions and so forth.  No, today the four part harmony I want to discuss centers around something much more important.  The health of your one and only body.

What does it take to keep your body healthy and well maintained?  You've probably heard the word "balance" almost over-used in holistic circles.  I'm not disputing the importance of balance, but what exactly is it that we are supposed to be balancing?  What are these things that we are juggling, anyway?
  1. Eat a high alkaline, low carbohydrate diet that includes a healthy breakfast.  I hear you saying, "define a healthy breakfast", so, thank you, I will.  It's been my experience that a breakfast high in protein and low in fat works best.  I personally drink a nutritional drink packed with vitamins, minerals and protein.  It fills me up and I am not hungry until snack time.
  2. From the time you get out of bed, begin drinking water with lemon.  I cannot give up my cup of coffee in the morning - it's my only vice.  It takes 3 glasses of water to dilute the rusting capabilities of one cup of java!  That's why I limit my coffee to one cup in the morning.
  3. If it's a pretty day, go out and enjoy it!  Don't stay inside the house if you could be outdoors breathing the fresh air and soaking up a little sun, which is an excellent source of vitamin D.
  4. Shake your booty every day!  A mere half hour of exercise will make a great deal of difference in your physical appearance, but it will do so much more to help you mentally and yes, even spiritually, believe it or not.
One of these does not work well without the other three.  Together these lifestyle habits create a beautiful chord.  When you do these things for a significant amount of time and they become lifestyle instead of habit, then you have written a gorgeous song with a lovely melody!

Today is also READ YOUR LABELS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!  We've had that discussion on this blog several times, but this serves as a little reminder to read those back labels - don't just trust the large print on the front label!!!

Beware!!!  Those labels are sneaky!!!
